It was a great reminder.
I remember vividly a FHE lesson my mom gave years ago where she taught us the words to "I Stand All Amazed" and talked about how the song teaches about the atonement. As mothers we are almost always way too hard on ourselves and on our kids - it's such a blessing to know that we don't have to do everything exactly right all the time. I have a perfectionistic personality (which I am trying really hard to get over :) ) - I have only been a mama for 3 1/2 years now, and I earnestly try so hard to do my best at raising them - but I have to remember that "best" isn't raising a robot that needs to be perfect. This was certianly an inspired and humbling post and I am so glad I came across your blog - I'm going to implement this asap..... I really feel like this was an answer to prayer, thank you thank you thank you :)Cara :)https://www.blogger.com/profile/01330312853687783610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-74864394654073513.post-16839967026737033902012-03-26T21:08:10.643-06:002012-03-26T21:08:10.643-06:00Lovely. And it doesn't matter how old your kids are - even if they are "grown" your chances are not over. Simply apologizing to your kids for not taking the time to really teach them about the atonement is going to be a powerful teaching moment, no matter what their age.

Thanks for your comment :)Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01667724269493668949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-74864394654073513.post-21764065535884570512012-03-26T13:35:56.105-06:002012-03-26T13:35:56.105-06:00Those are going to be good links for me to click t...Those are going to be good links for me to click through. I had a strong impression yesterday in church: teach the children about repentance. As in: be serious about this task, and start today. So boy is this post timely. My oldest is 7 1/2, and I should have been doing better up to this point, but I'm thankful *I* have the chance to repent and teach them better when they're still little. We do make a big deal out of saying the words to each other "I am sorry, please forgive me" and "I forgive you", but haven't emphasized following up in prayer with God. Good things to think about.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01959841561323203499noreply@blogger.com
